George, my Dad's dad was my 'little' grandad! He lived with us all my life until when he became to fragile for us to care for him properly and safely, then my mam and dad made the hard decision and decided he would be safer if he went to live at a residential home but he still came home on a tuesday night and at weekends for sunday roast, and I would take him and my dad to the pub for a bit of father-son quality time :-)
Little grandad was a lovely, kind, caring, considerate man who loves his family and grandchildren and was to me the perfect grandad I could ever want! He was like the grandads you see on the christmas films....just perfect!
He had a fall in 99 and broke his hip and had to have a hip replacement and from then it was all down hill and he deteriorated fast.
He also became known as little grandad to my daughter Kate who also loved to go and see him and loved taking him out with me for an ice-cream or a pint!
He is sadly missed but never forgotten, now reunited with his Son (my dad) Alan Harvey, his daughter in law Julia Harvey (My mam) and his grandson Brian Scott (My cousin).
Hope they are all having a pint together now ;-)

A GOLDEN CANDLE
This poem is all about a golden candle
It's flames flicker oh so bright
And keep burning well until morning light
I light it at night..
And first thing at dawn
This Golden candle is in loving memory of you..
To remember when you were born
For my love i remember it all you see
And this candle will burn bright for eternity
The flames will burn bright
With such warmth and glow
Why God took you my love we will never know
If the wind blows the candle out
Remember my loved one..
Just give me a shout
For this candle for you will stay glowing night and day
And my love for you is here to stay

I am glad I am in heaven

Yes I miss my family dear
But I had to go away
God picked me from many

I can only imagine
What heaven must be like
Where there is only peace
Sharing with angels in god’s delight

Where gardens bloom forever
And there is beauty so profound
As one enters heaven
They have come to holy ground

God has created for us a home
Where pain and suffering are no more
And we are welcomed by his saints
As we walk through heaven’s door
